Governance

The projects under this program will basically focus on the following areas

3.1 Gender
Promotion of gender dimensions in all related youth developmental issues. Gender sensitive issues like education for the girl child are tackled and with funds, girls have been allocated with bursaries for their high school education.

3.2 Advocacy & Lobbying

Here community dialogues/forums with the community around, events are carried out to raise awareness of the target community/group on topical issues such as civic education, creation of awareness on governance issues and participating on policy development working closely with the youth. Previously, we have held events on small arms in relation with the Kenya Action Network on Small Arms. 

3.3    Civic Education
Consciousness-raising of the general public on identified topical issues such as supporting women for affirmative action and youth participation in leadership and peaceful processes.

3.4    Research
This project will seek to promote a culture of evidence-based intervention in project implementation. Research is carried out to identify the needs of the target groups of YIKE, how best to handle these needs and the impact of YIKE programs on the livelihood of people.
